Zane and Zane was founded in 1967 as a partnership between James B. Zane and his father, Louis Ira Zane. The firm was re-organized as Zane and Teitler in 1977 and eventually as Zane and Rudofsky in 1980.

The firm has always been a "commercial litigation boutique" attracting referrals of difficult cases from other lawyers and representing a widely-diverse clientele consisting primarily (though by no means exclusively) of real estate entrepreneurs and managers, non-profit corporations, religious organizations, and medical personnel.

In addition to rendering litigation services to its many clients, the firm also engages in real estate, employment and other transactional work, and acts as outside general counsel to a select group of clients.

The firm of Zane and Rudofsky has been regarded for many years as "lawyers' lawyers," taking on and resolving difficult cases which have defied resolution in the hands of the original attorneys. We are proud of our record and reputation, and look forward to continuing to efficiently render quality legal services, with the highest possible degree of integrity and loyalty to our clients.

The firm's principal office is located in the landmarked Starrett Lehigh Building in the Chelsea District of Manhattan. In addition, the firm maintains offices on Long Island in Old Bethpage and Melville, where clients are seen by appointment.
